| We,
the developers of Mulino sul Tevere, are three American friends
who share a love of Italy and have visited there often over
the years (About Us). For a long
time each of us has dreamed of owning a vacation home somewhere
in the green hills of the Italian countryside.
Then, three years ago, we discovered an extraordinary 40-acre
property on the banks of the Tiber River that literally straddles
the Umbria-Lazio border. The property had everything we could
have imagined: a beautiful, tranquil setting with panoramic
views of the Tiber River valley in every direction, a magnificent
17th century mill and three wonderful old stone farm buildings
in need of restoration, and an unbeatable location halfway
between Rome and Florence.
Inspired by our find, we decided to undertake an adventure
to create not just a couple of vacation homes but a private,
upscale resort designed specifically to meet the needs of
our families and friends. We call it Mulino sul Tevere, the
Mill on the Tiber.
The owners of units at Mulino sul Tevere will not only have
a wonderful place to vacation but a sound investment as well.
We will be managing the resort on behalf of the owners, taking
care of maintenance and providing special services and amenities.
When the owners are not in residence, they may take advantage
of our vacation rental services that generate investment
income.
So far, it has been quite an adventure. We spent more than
a year negotiating to buy the 40-acre property which consisted
of 17 parcels of land owned by 11 different family members.
Then, working closely with one of Italy's foremost architects
and the local authorities, it took us another two years to
secure the permissions we needed to build a high quality
resort that would respect the property's architectural heritage
and natural environment. Fortunately, our perserverence has
paid off and now the fun begins! Come join us!
